Static window film and high quality double paired and insulation glass.

Is it a yes, or a no? We will give you the answers you are looking for.
To start with the good news: our static quality film may/can be used on any type of window quality.

Multiple pane glass, is glass with sealant in-between. Not every type of window film can be used on high quality glass windows. Do you use the wrong type of film on these types of glass, there is a possibility for the glass to crack because of temperature changes. Thermal fracturing occurs when a sufficient temperature differential is created within the glass. Stress forces develop between the panes. The warmth is trying to expand, and the cold is resisting this extension. The glass gives in under the tension, and cracks.

Our own experience

Since we moved to our new home, we changed all the windows to double pane high quality glass. Of course we asked the glass specialists a couple of questions before they came to install the windows. The specialist told us that it’s important to leave a small gap between the film and the window frame. That is one of the reasons why we advise to adhere to an open space of 2mm. He also told us that there won’t be any troubles with our foil quality and heat!

There are different types of multiple paned quality glass. Double, triple and even quadruple paned glass. The more players of glass, the better the energy efficient is, and the more soundproof for example.

In-between the glass layers, there is a sun resistance funcion. That’s why you can’t use sun-resistant will quality. Our film quality doesn’t have that function. It dims direct sunlight, but it doesn’t absorb the warmth like sun resistant quality film does. It doesn’t affect the stress forces of the glass. Pressure doesn’t build up, and thermal fracturing doesn’t happen.

In a nutshell?

Our window films do not absorb heath and can be used at all types of glass. Double, triple and quadruple paned glass.

Did you know that thermal fracturing very seldom happens?
And when it happens, it’s mostly caused by an existing crack or a fabric mistake.
